I launched my station about two years after the start of webradio. Due to novelty, for the first few years, i got lots and lots of rave reviews, which was of course ego-gratifying. After awhile, though, this excitement died down as the novelty wore off, total copycat stations were launched, Pandora came in, etc.
Whenever a new directory shows up, I make sure my station is listed there, because you never know, sometimes they take off, like radiotime aka tunein, and sometimes they putz out, like Windows Media Player Media Guide. As I prefer listeners to listen from my homepage not directories, I don't pay much attention to directories after making sure they carry my station.
However, the other day, I did notice that Streema has an extremely active Wall for listeners to post reviews of stations. I saw dozens and dozens of rave reviews of my station -- the kind that had diminished in the direct emails I got back in the early days of webradio.
Just wanted to put in a plug for Streema here, as the Wall feature is a nice one compared to all the other directories, where you are just on a list, in a genre, and that's about it.
