I'm real disappointed I didn't keep that message. I'll keep searching and report back if I find it.

The reason for the app would be for live broadcasting at venues where carrying a laptop might not always be possible. A USB mic connected directly to a phone (micro USB) should be enough to make it work with the right app. Overall sound quality isn't majorly important as it should sound like a live, remote broadcast.

You can plug microphones into the USB port of a smartphone?
I always thought USB OTG was only for mass storage (i.e. USB sticks/harddrives/cardreaders)

I hope posting a link to a "store" isn't against the rules. I'm not trying to sell anything, just verify the mic question.

Even if you wanted to sell the mic, you could do that. (Only in the Free Content/Self Promotion area, but still no problem unless you compete with Spacial)
But all you get there are USB mics for PC and Lightning Mics for iPhone/iPad if I'm not missing something.

I was wondering if Android/Windows Phones really support USB mics. The USB connector is usually just a "device" connector and sometimes includes USB OTG capability for two way connections, but I thought the second mode was limited to storage.

Yes, starting with Android 5.0, there has been more and more support for OTG devices. 6.0 has even more support, most of which, I believe, is native in the OS.
I have a Oneplus One running Android 6.0.1 and a USB mic plugged in will be recognized.
