I've been using SAM Party DJ for years and couldn't be happier with my investment. That being said, I'd like to "downgrade" to a smaller laptop and have been considering a Netbook. Will SAM Party DJ run on a Netbook with a 1.3GHz processor, 1GB DDR and a 160G HD?

I know SAM seems to be pretty light resource wise as I've had Norton scans running in the background without even knowing. I'd love to have a 10.1" screen instead of the 17 I'm using now.

Any insight from some users here that may have tried it would be priceless.

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work on it. I believe actually, a year or two ago, a user in here had already done just that w/ his SAM Broadcaster, which essentially is the same thing as SAM PDJ, except that Broadcaster comes with encoders for live broadcasts.

Thanks for the info. I thought it might work since the Netbooks tend to run a full Home edition of whichever flavor operating system is being used. Problem will be digging up all the old info from my purchase to move it from my laptop to my netbook in the event I decide to go that direction...

I just wanted to follow up. I purchased a Asus Netbook from Tiger Direct for $329. It has a 10.1" backlit screen, 1.6Ghz Atom N270 processor, 1GB DDR, 160GB hard drive, Windows XP Home, WiFi, Wireless b/g/n, Bluetooth and the extended 6-cell (6 hour+ battery). It came without any real spamware installed which was nice. I installed Avira Antivirus (running) and ZoneAlarm (running). It's downloaded about 3 waves of updates and I downloaded and installed the trial version of SAM Party DJ 4 and it runs flawlessly.

Hope this info helps. It will be nice to carry around and take requests.
