Just a quick question. I wanted to use SAM Vibe to unicast to an Icecast server I have in 192 kbps ogg-vorbis. Is this supported?

Specifically, this is so I can connect with Traktor live at 192 kbps ogg-vorbis without causing the listeners to reconnect.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, SAM VIBE can only relay to SHOUTcast v1 and Icecast v2 in either AAC v1, AAC v2 or MP3.

Damnit, that makes things harder.

So let's say I'm streaming to my icecast server at 192 kbps MP3 and then connect with Traktor to my icecast server, it will knock Sam Vibe off then connect me, right? Will that cause the listeners to have to reconnect?

Also, is AAC LC supported?

You could stream from SAM VIBE to your Icecast server and connect Traktor to your SAM VIBE service, using it as a streaming source. You would be able to stream in AAC, MP3 or Ogg Vorbis in this configuration using your Traktop as an Icecast v2 source.

The steps to configure this are on page 68 of the SAM VIBE user guide available here:

http://supportdocs.spacial.com/SAM+VIBE/SAM+VIBE+User+Guide.pdf

Please let me know how you get on with that.

Oh awesome! Perfect. I did want to do two mount points on my icecast server (one for desktop, one for mobile) and so I can stream in ogg-vorbis then have two AAC streams going to my Icecast2 server, correct?

Can I stream to Vibe in 192 and have it convert to 192 AAC, or when it hits Vibe, will it downgrade it to 128 kbps first?

Or does the 128 kbps restriction only apply to listeners connecting directly to Vibe?

Your help has been great btw. It's really appreciated.

Hi, Whatever is streamed to SAM VIBE would be converted to the selected output stream configuration. This obviously depends on what your selected stream output from SAM VIBE is.
