So most of my collection of music is in FLAC, ALAC, and a small amount in AAC. The AAC tracks i will upload as is, but wondering what format to use to upload the lossless music in.
I don't want to use FLAC because it will take up lots of space, and I only have 30 GBs.
I plan to have two streams, one at 64 kbps AAC+ and another at 320 kbps MP3.
I know Centova re-encodes tracks, but does SAM Vibe? If it doesn't (which it shouldn't since crossfade isn't used... yet) if the bitrate and format of the song matches the output setting, will it just play that? Obviously, I won't have any tracks in 64 kbps AAC+, but if it saves a re-encode from happening, I'd put all the lossless tracks to 320 kbps MP3.
There is this step in the upload process that isn't defined at all in the user manual:
3. In the cloud, the file is further processed to make it ready for broadcasting
Does this mean it's encoded or just tagged? Please help.
If it's re-encoded anyways, I'll just upload the tracks at AAC 256 kbps VBR. Might as well get the best space and a 192 AAC sounds better than a 320 kbps file.
