Hi, I've had SamCast running perfect for a couple of years on a Windows WP Pro box, but I've now transferred to a newer Windows 7 64-bit PC.

Now some strange things are happening. SamCast seems to quit unexpectedly, at random times; it might run for a few hours or a few days, then the streams stop and when I investigate SamCast just isn't running.

Also, sometimes when it quits I find that the PC's soundcard is muted!

I'm running v3.4.5.

Can you help please?

Thanks

Andy

Was it a copy and paste transfer, or did you actually install it?

It does matter as some of the registry keys needed may not have been added because it wasn't installed, it was just copied and pasted, then ran.

Windows 7 SP1, 64bit. CPU is Intel Core 2 duo, 3GHz, with 4MB RAM. Sound card is an Orban Optimod-PC 1100.

It did it again today: app closed, sound card muted.

What version of Windows 7? is it Ultimate? Home Premium? Business?

Also do you have an antivirus installed? If so what is it?

And I'm assuming you meant 4GB of ram, as 4MB wouldnt be enough to run Win 7. lol

Found a solution to this: stopped using SamCast and now use EdCast instead. Just as good and more stable.

I really wanted to continue with Sam, but the lack of response here and from tech support forced my decision.

There's no point having decent software if your support sucks.

If you had expected similar support for SAM Cast on the forums as for SAM Broadcaster it's just normal that you're disappointed.
There's multiple reasons for this. Mostly SAM Cast has way less users than SAM Broadcaster, but there's also no real use for people to stay active in the community once the software is set up and running for the first time.

No idea about tech support on the other hand. They've always tried to be helpful to me, even if it takes a while to get to the root of the problem by times.
