I reckon believing in a »perfect« setup someone else made and that you can simply copy is kindergarten because there is no such thing as a free beer.
If one runs a »radio« station, one should either know about how such things like Compressors, Expanders, Limiters work or at least have a good audio engineer that does. SAM offers astounding flexibility in setting up for a »good sound«. (And is unfortunately delivered with a default setting that would just barely be enough for some »oomph, oomph« type of music.)
Now what’s a good sound? That depends very very much on the formats you play (as superalternative rightly mentioned). And of course depends very much on the original quality: an old shellac disc on a turntable needs other settings as a Heavy Metal CD that’s been mastered near all limits. And I’ve seen so many »radios« playing pirated bad-quality 32 or 64 kbit/s CBR MP3s and expecting wonders to come out the other end. So it’s very definitely »garbage in—garbage out« like everywhere else.
Good (auto-)crossfading is a story of its own: I use very different settings depending on what I play—you simply cannot play AOR or CHR formats with the same settings as, say, Trance or Jazz. My best recommendation here: Have a good hearing and check your own stream archives, or have a pro listen in and help.
Still it’s sometimes nice to see what others have set up.

And, is it perfect for all music genres you stream on you station, or do you broadcast just one music genre? I mean, is it better than the default setup, and if so, why? Thanks.
