this am sam had an issue, or maybe my os screwed up, did an error correction through the tools menus on the c drive, if found and replaced damaged files in samdb.I wish i wrote down the original error, useing best memory.
once this was done, same reload fine and came right up, but now i cannot add files to interview or promos, or really anything,or add songs to the que or the song i have ready to play, so basicly when the songs are all played i cannot reload or add. i cannot even search for songs as it does nothing, everything else works, can this be repaired or do i need to reinstall the program?

sam 4.3.4
p4 cpu 3.00
2.99 ghz 3.49 ram
windows xp pro 2002 service pack 3

Two things I suggest:

(1) Upgrade to the LATEST version of SAM (4.3.6) All legitimate clients can log into the CLIENTS area (upper right corner of this page) and download the latest version.

(2) Drop using FIREBIRD and switch to MySQL for your database. MySQL is much more stable and you''ll find much more support here for MySQL than you will for Firebird. (Yes, this could require a complete new install...)

No need to reformat the hard-drive, just MAKE SURE that everything SAM-related as well as anything FIREBIRD-related is completely gone. Files, folders, etc. Maybe even do a defrag afterwards.

** MAKE SURE YOU DEACTIVATE YOUR SAM INSTALL BEFORE UNINSTALLING **

(Config > REgistration Key > Deactivate)

Once done, download and install MySQL. Here's a great MySQL tutorial:
http://www.festerhead.com/forums/viewto ... f=17&t=118

THEN reinstall SAM (the newest version 4.3.6, as older versions have known bugs that have been fixed in 4.3.6) and choose MySQL as your database.

Nothing that you should be worried about really. Just make sure you completely remove SAM before reinstalling it to use MySQL.

Come on up to Michigan and give it a try ;). Just got around 13 inches last night into today with 6 more expected on Sunday evening...fun fun!

Kids got an extra day of break today, TV stations had to constantly announce how there was over 500 school closings...
