Two things:

(1) tell us more about what you're using. Click the link in the orange box above titled "Help Us Help You"

(2) please rename your thread to something that describes your problem. "Small Problem..." doesn't tell visitors to the forum what the topic is.

Come back with answers to #1, as well as info on what kind of mic you're using.

There's a LOT more in that thread that needs answered:

What version of SAM?
What database?

SHOUTcast is not a database... it's a streaming audio server.

Your database will be either MySQL, Firebird, etc.

Does your microphone work in any other applications? Is this a USB microphone, or is it just plugged into the soundcard's MIC input?

Have you tried rebooting the machine, restarting SAM and trying again?

Does the microphone work in any other applications?

Check to make sure you have the microphone configured in Windows.

(I do not use VISTA, so I'm not sure where the MIC cofig for Vista is.)

If you're going to use the external microphone, you most likely need to configure it for use in VISTA before it will work in SAM.

I'm assuming it's due to the microphone not being configured. If SAM cannot find a micrphone, I don't believe that will work. I could be wrong.

Please keep in mind that we're all volunteers, most of us users like yourself. We ask these questions for a reason. The more information you provide, the less we have to guess about what's wrong and the more quickly we may find a solution for you.

Thanks.
