So here's a new one that just happened.

I 2010-07-13 12:39:57 [CORE] SAM ready
I 2010-07-13 12:39:57 [CORE] GUI ready
E 2010-07-13 12:40:01 [Virtual DJ] Players in idle too long. Auto recovery triggered...
N 2010-07-13 12:40:07 [Virtual DJ] Starting auto recovery...
W 2010-07-13 12:40:07 [Virtual DJ] Auto recovery was aborted
W 2010-07-13 12:40:07 [TOUCH] Touch aborted: At least one relay must be active AND public.
N 2010-07-13 12:40:07 [DECK A] Neil Diamond - Solitary Man (2:35)

You can see that I restarted SAM at 12:39:56. I might be wrong, but this one doesn't seem to be PAL related. I'm getting frustrated.

Have you submitted a ticket to support? What do they say?

But it stopped at 12:14. I restarted it at 12:39. 12:40 is not when it crashed. It crashed shortly after 12:14. (Note the down time until the 12:39 restart.)

AH. I forgot. I'm also sending a touch every three or four minutes to LoudCity for royalties. That's why it touched twice during. So it's that every few minutes and Twitter every song.

Sorry for spacing on that.

hmmm..

can you detail the system specs of the computer your using? sam used to have problems with dual/multi core PC's.. maybe for some reason it carried over to the version your using..

check out his thread : viewtopic.php?f=20&t=22376

its the only thing I can think of at this point, if that doesnt solve the problem, then your going to have to wait for your support ticket..

It's a Core2 Duo, but it's been working for the better part of two years. I remember the issues, but surely SAM works on what has to make up at least 3/4 of the PC market by now. Uh...right?

The dual core issues were solved a long time ago, as long as you're using the latest version. If you don't hear anything from your support ticket in the next 24 hours or so, send a new response to the ticket, and also email support at support@spacialaudio.com

Oh crap. Support suggested I install the latest beta of SAM while they scrutinize my SAMBC-core XML file.

Problem: It will NOT restore my last backup. It acts like it restores...sits for a spell before saying a restart is needed ot complete the restore...but when I restart SAM, it's still in factory fresh condition. No playlists, no config setting, no server settings, no PAL scripts, nothing. They're all on the drive in the places I left them, but the new install refuses to find them. This sucks.

I'm now off the air. Completely. Damn.

UPDATE: Okay, I'm back up using hamster wheels and duct tape. Man, I have another night ahead of meee...

In case anyone is following this, I did everything support suggested, got it config'ed the way I like, rebuilt my playlists and desktops and it worked fine...for about 2 days.

This morning, it died again. Curiously, the Error Log was last updated July 14th (2 days ago) so I have no way of seeing what, if anything, happened.

I'll let you know what Spacial says next.

The repeated crashing sucks; I have nothing left to offer other than condolences which doesn't help resolve the issue, sorry.
Please keep us informed.

Thanks, Fester. That's more than what support is giving me which is just silence. I may have to bite the bullet and go back to OTS after a three year haitus. I wish I had a better outcome.

I was thinking of bumping up to Win 7, but I see that might be no solution. I've run out of options along with listeners. In two months I went from 110-130 during peak to around 18 due to a lot of mitigating circumstances, none of which I could control.

Kinda takes the fun out of this.
