You may just want to clarify - this is not yet a final 4.9.2 version...

Louis,

Just installed the beta, and everything seems to be functioning correctly, including the delete function on the main category (4.9.1 for some reason that was removed). But everything seems to be stable, and the pop and click on the local audio seems to be gone as well...great job stabilizing the playback decks.

I am about to take the plunge to install the BETA, even though I do not have any issues at all. Everything I NEED to do is working fine.

So, two questions:

- Should I upgrade from 4.9.1 to the latest BETA?
- If so, I still need to deactivate my license and reactivate with the new version, correct?

Thanks for your input, good folks :)

Cheers,
Mike

I've always just installed new versions right overtop. Simple close SAM, run the installer for the new version, and then reopen SAM and enjoy the new version. Easy peasy! :P

Interesting. I've never done it that way, and the activation has always carried over.

Although by deactivating and reactivating, you aren't risking losing an activation and having to get ahold of support.

Just the way I was told to do the upgrade.

It's chicken soup - may not help, couldn't hurt.

The De-activate step would never be a bad thing to do, but is only really recommended when upgrading from SAM v4.6.x or older as since v4.7.x we moved the installation data folder. In 99% of cases simply running the installer will do the trick. It will even close SAM for you if you forgot to do that.

Good information. I did "The Hermit install" (LOL) and all works well.

Thanks again, guys!

urrghh, i Tried SAM 4.9.2 (B2) with AUTODJ ... and now, the same problem, both decks are playin´ ....
- after queuing manuel, both titles where played. One title in Queue (automatic), one added. on end from the last title in Deck, SAMs played both titles.
- "Cache GhostQueue" was enabled, now trying Disabled :)

deutsch:
Manuell einen Titel in die Queue gezogen, dieser Titel und der, der schon in der Queue war wurden gleichzeitig abgespielt, nachdem der aktuelle Titel beendet wurde.

SAM with MYSQL ...

Four days on Sam 4.9.2 (B2) and none of the issues I had with 4.9.1, most importantly, I haven't heard or heard reported an instance of two songs playing at the same time - a problem which I did experience with 4.9.1. So far, so good.

Was it just once or is this a recurring issue that you can reproduce in the same way?

Deutsch:
Ist das nur einmal passiert oder passiert das jedes mal wenn du einen zusätzlichen Titel in die Warteschlange ziehst?

this error came one time only. i try to reproduce it. i turn now the " Cache Queue Count " on and try the two options " queue Bottom / Top "

still look for errors ...
i look in the history, when Sam playes both Titles:
the starttime has a time difference of 2 seconds..
Example:
title1 played at 07:07:56 time to play 03:01min ,
title2 played at 07:07:58 time to play 05:35min,
the next title playes at 07:13:29.
i don´t know, what Sam do in this time... i had no time to hear it :(

--- next error on 12.08.2011:
in this moment, my SAM runs for 18hours10min ...
SAM run only in AUTODJ Mode since hours ....
