I would like to create a SAM backup copy .. So i install a clean SAM version so copy the .core file (for having the same sets) then i've tried to copy the old sam.fdb into the backup SAMDB folder.. But not work... SAM freeze.. I've tried to install a clean version of SAM only with .core all works fine and sam run perfectly.. But if i try to restore from previous BACKUP of the MAIN sam copy it freeze and stop to work !!! I need to restart the VPN machine..
Could you help me ??

You'll probably have to run SAM once with a new empty database and then shut it down, restore your db and restart SAM.
Another possible option would be that the Firebird Daemon stores the user/password and not the database file.
In that case you'd have to use the password from the new install with the old database file.
