I need some help about this function.
I've a mixed files with a pause of 10 sec (Very low volume almost silent) now sam when have to play the 'silence' skip this file and play the next song in queue.
How can i do to force SAM to play this file until the end even with 'silence' ??
I've disabled the gap killer function is it correct ??
Thanks a lot.
Regards, STefano.

The Gap killer will remove silent parts (below the configured threshold) from the beginning and end of a track (i.e. a song that fades from -50dB to 0dB would have 2/3 of this fade removed by default)
It will not remove silent parts from the middle or anywhere after the very beginning or very end of a track.

The third setting is responsible for skipping to a next song if silence is detected. If the song starts with a long very silent sequence lower than the first threshold, it will be skipped and it will also be skipped as soon as a long very silent sequence lower than the "end" threshold is detected anywhere else in the song. The manual says this feature is actually meant to skip "hidden tracks" (which usually appeared behind a sequence of silence at the end of one track on an album)
If you never want to skip a track just because there is a silent part, just disable that last option.

Disabling the Gap Killer altogether is a good idea if you only play local music that you hand picked / previously listened to yourself.
If you rely on relaying third party streams it might be good to keep the skip option to kill of a relay that went belly up.

That's my personal take on the gap killer. Others might feel different about it's usefulness.
