Is there a method to load a clockwheel file (.cwf) into the playlist module via a Pal script?
I fully expect the answer is NO, but thought I would ask anyway since playlist rules can be changed by PAL.
Before the suggestion is made to use the Event Scheduler, I utilize that on program changes.
The reason I am asking is that when SAM is started it reverts to the clockwheel that was operational the last time the SAM configuration was saved.
Once in a while SAM will lockup due to a PAL script function at the exact same time of an event that I hadn't anticipated, which I later create precautionary steps in that Pal.
Can't explain the many other times it has locked up.
Anyway, have a silent sensor call me when a couple of minutes of silence is detected.
I have stumbled down from the bedroom to End Task and restart SAM at 3 AM.
I have a script that runs at startup to normalize some external parameters and would like to include a Day-Time scheme to load the appropriate .cwf into the playlist module via that PAL.
I have a tendency to forget to change the clockwheel manually in the middle of the night (not fully awake) with soft music playing to only discover that 30 minutes later it is playing upbeat music instead of soft.
The Event Scheduler is set to make the next Clockwheel change at 6 AM.
Don't really want to have the Event Scheduler to trigger loading the .cwf every 10 minutes just for that scenario.
Maybe another way around this issue is to use the Event Scheduler to save the SAM configuration after a clockwheel change, how can that be done?
That would be nice if Save Configuration was added in the new Maintenance Section of the Event Scheduler. Finally, there is another method I could use.
Matter of fact I use a script to rename all the .cwfs in order to gradually increase the frequency of Christmas music at the beginning of each week in December.
I prefer to only utilize that scheme for Christmas, looking for a simpler more eloquent method if possible.
Thank you for time and any insight you might have!

No

But if you're familiar with SQL and comfortable enough to manipulate SAM's internal datastructures from within PAL, you can achieve a similar result by having PAL create/schedule an event and have that load a clockwheel file.

The easiest way to achieve that would be to create said event by hand in SAM and only add eventtimes when needed via PAL.
