I'm willing to write 1 new PAL script.

Looking for requests from everybody on what they need. I will look at the most popular ones and then program it.

Since this is for free, please don't give me dozens of pages of what you need. Something simple to intermediate.

Post your replies here.

I could use a PAL script to check song titles in the queue for the word "[Explicit]" (in brackets) and, (if it's between 6am and 6pm) remove the song from the queue.

Thanks for your consideration.

I’m looking for a PAL script to utilize a liner overlay over the intro to a song. There are a couple of simple overlay PAL scripts that come with the SAM software but they basically pull a random liner from a category in SAM and play it after a certain time period (or number of songs).

However, I’m PRE-SCHEDULING CERTAIN LINERS as part of the day’s playlist (using Powergold, a third-party music scheduling program) so that they’re already placed in the queue throughout the day. These liners are assigned a different Song Type in SAM other than “S”. So I need a PAL script that causes SAM to look ahead at the NEXT ITEM in the QUEUE and if it’s assigned as SONG TYPE “A” (or “X” or “I” or whatever, just not “S”), then it should load that item in the AUX1 deck, and then play it simultaneously over the song that follows after it in the queue.

Essentially the logic would follow as this:

1. Song Type “S” is currently playing normally in the active player deck.
2. SAM looks ahead to the next item in the queue and sees that it’s Song Type “A” and not “S”.
3. If Song Type is A, that item is to be loaded into AUX1 and stands by for the current song to end.
4. The following item (after the liner) in the Queue is Song Type “S” and is to be loaded in the inactive player.
5. At the segue point of the currently playing song, SAM plays the LINER in AUX 1 as an OVERLAY as the next song is started in the next player. The audio in the SONG player is set to “low” volume while the liner is playing then returns to normal volume (audio ducking).

Again, this PAL script that I need is different in that it allows the liners to be placed in the QUEUE and not randomly assigned after certain minutes or songs.

Can you do it? THANKS!

@radiojon - I made this offer 3 months and no one took advantage of it.

Right now I am writing the one script (see above) and then I'm done. I was free 3 months ago, but am really busy now. Sorry, but you should have asked months ago. If I get freed up again, I'll let everyone know.

@radiojon - Here is the script that you requested.

Code:
var theSong : TSongInfo;
//
// This script will look at the next song in the Queue
//   AND if current song is [Explicit} AND (songtype = "S") AND between 6 AM and 6 PM .. song is removed from queue
//    it will remove it from top of Queue
//
//  Version 1.01 - by CountryWesternDJ (http://www.lahotcountry.com) - September 8, 2018
//   Don't be a dick and remove the credit
//

PAL.Loop := True;

theSong := Queue.NextInQueue;

if ( (theSong['songtype'] = 'S') and (pos('[Explicit]', theSong['title']) ) > 1 )
   then
     begin
// is it between 6 AM and 6 PM ?  if so, remove from Queue
        if ( (Now>T['06:00:00']) AND (Now<T['18:00:00']) ) then
          Queue.Delete(theSong['ID'])
        else
          begin
            writeLN('NOT found');
// put the song back into the queue since not between 6 AM and 6 PM
            Queue.AddFile(theSong['filename'],ipTop);
          end;
end;

//  Loop PAL script and wait for 1 song to play before executing.
PAL.WaitForPlayCount(1);

theSong.Free;
