I have tried multiple times to configure SAM Reporter and MySQL to be able to browse the database from another PC than the one where SAM is installed.
I haven't been able to do it.
Please offer this possibility so that a Program Director can browse reports via SAM Reporter while DJs are working on SAM computer.

Shouldn’t be much of a problem, though I never tried:

Put the SAMReporter folder and all subfolders onto a PHP-enabled web server (check local php.ini for required settings) that has access to your SAM PC’s mySQL database, change SAMReporter/htdocs/config.local.php and SAMReporter/htdocs/dbconfig.xml.php as needed, and you should be up and running.

And do not allow any mySQL access (esp. not »root«) over the network without a password set!

...or, if you want to access it from another machine on the same network, just open a browser on the remote machine, enter the IP for the SAM machine w/ the port for reports.

Make sure you have the port open to that machine.

Sorry it doesn't work. It was the 1st thing I've tried.
I've nearly tried that too, but I put the SamReporter files on the Program Director PC.
I'll setup local Web Server to see if it works (I'm not really used to setup a Windows based Web Server, but it shouldn't be too hard)
The last tests I've done are several months back and I haven't kept any trace of these tests.
I'll try again and let you know.

You could always use Windows RDC (terminal services) or VNC and have the PD run the report on the SAM machine. I do it all the time. I output the report file in CSV format, download it to my machine and print.

A word of caution: Reports does not want to work on any port but 10080. I learned this the hard way when I tried to change it to fit into a group of ports I was using for remote access.

You got me curious so I started poking around.

First, it occurs to me that a website needs to speak to the database to do requests and such and there is something in one of SAM's config files that I vaguely remember having to play with to set up the website as a MySQL user. Dipped if I can find it right now, but there's this niggling suspicion that's what needs to be done. This may be what Moonbase was referring to.

This is the way we proceed right now, but what about not being able to control your mouse as a DJ because the Program Director want to see SAMReports ?
Sincerely this isn't possible.
I know how to connect to any SQL database, but I wanted the Program Director to use SAMReporter.
It seems that I'll have to install an EasyPHP on the Program Director workstation and write codes to consult MySQL database.

SAMReporter is doing things fine (just have to modify some codes to suit our needs), I thought it COULD be possible to modify it without having to rewrite a complete PHP code to do the same thing (reason why I posted in Feature Request forum).

If VNC is set up properly, the DJ and the PD can engage in "mouse wars" grabbing it from each other; I go through that when trying to show my mother stuff remotely. But I see your point.

It would be a useful feature. We're all just trying to offer interim solutions.

This is exactly what happens and what isn't pleasant at all for the DJ ...
But I'm trying the Moonbase thing (to put SAMReporter on a local Webserver).
