Would be great if SAM Broadcaster could playing .m4a and .ogg files, but also those with lossless audio tracks.

Icecast2 can receive not only ogg/vorbis but also ogg/flac stream. If an ogg/flac encoder were available, that would be great.
This would allow to stream in the best quality available.

SAM added m4a support in June 2015 ver 2015.1 and FLAC June 2013 ver 2013.4 even SAM 4 could decode ogg.

If the m4a container has an aac/aacplus codec, it will play, If it is ALAC, then no. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Lossless
If there is a vorbis audiotrack in the ogg container, play it. If there is flac, then no. https://xiph.org/flac/ogg_mapping.html
Only standard ogg encoders can be selected, not oggflac anymore.
