Hello,

I've just uploaded an intro file for my station. It has the same bitrate as the original streaming service but it is not working. Actually, it plays the file but it doesn't connect to the stream afterwards, Does anyone know what is happening?

Thanks,
Rodrigo James

It must also be the same format and sample rate.

Also please note that the windows media player which is shipped with windows 7 has some problems with intro files.
I don't know why this is a player specific problem, but there was a user here not long ago who found that fact.

I've checked the file again and it is the same format and sample rate. I even saved the file again just to make sure of it but it didn't work out again.

What happens is the file is not in the same format?

There is no defined state for that situation.
The most likely thing that will happen is crippled sound for everything beyond the intro, as the server will try to play that in the same format as the intro, regardless of what it really is.
Other things that might happen is either the other way around (Intro crippled), being disconnected or just hearing nothing.

The stream will sound like the Chipmunks or won't play at all.

I found the mistake.
My stream was set to MP3 (LAME) but the files i was uploading were MP3 plain. I changed the stream and everything is working perfectly. Thank you!
