Correct Audio Pipeline setup
Recently a lot of people have been contacting support about "Audio fast forwarding" during the crossfade of songs and/or skipping problems in SAM. In most cases this was caused by the incorrect setup of the Audio pipeline. If you are having trouble with the audio inside SAM, please use one fo the following configurations for your Audio Pipeline.
Open up the Audio Pipeline Open up SAM->Config->Audio pipeline Correct Audio Pipeline setup Recently a lot of people has been contacting support about "Audio fast forwarding" during the crossfade of songs.
In all cases this was caused by the incorrect setup of the Audio pipeline. If you are having trouble with the audio inside SAM, please use one fo the following configurations for your Audio Pipeline.
Open up the Audio Pipeline Open up SAM->Config->Audio pipeline
Configuration 1: Deck output
Pros:
- Lower latency when you adjust the volume and EQ settings and when you pause/play.
- VoiceFX does not cause an echo if you record from mic
Cons:
- Perfect mixing is not applied in the crossfade and other fades.
- DSP effects applied on the final mixer will not be audible. (Only on the streaming client)
Setup:
- Set Deck A, Deck B, and Sound FX to the "DirectSound" output module
- Set VoiceFX and the final mixer output module to "Silent"
Configuration 2: Mixer output (Recommended)
Pros:
- Perfect mixing is applied in the crossfade and other fades.
- DSP effects applied on the final mixer will be audible.
- What you hear is what your listener hears.
Cons:
- Bigger latency when you adjust the volume and EQ settings and when you pause/play.
- VoiceFX cause an echo if you record from mic.
(The work-around in this case is to switch the VoiceFX mode to "Playback only (Skip audio pipeline)" and to press the red "record" button on the encoders)
Setup:
- Set Deck A, Deck B, Sound FX and VoiceFX to the "Silent" output module
- The final mixer output module to "DirectSound"
