These are the rotation rules that tell your SAM Broadcaster how often to play a spot from your StreamAds provider, including avoiding conflicting campaigns from running (playing a car dealer's spot after a different car dealer's spot).

StreamAds Rotation Rules

Maximum variance: The number of seconds that is the maximum that the spot can play in that allotted slot:

  • Lets say you have a StreamAds slot that allows you a 30 second spot to play and there is a 35 second commercial. This will allow that 35 second commercial to play if you set the Maximum variance to 5 seconds or above.

Minimum wait before spot can play again: How many minutes before that same spot can play again in SAM.

Minimum separation between categories: How many minutes between commercials of the same type:

  • Lets say you had an automotive commercial just play, this is how long before another automotive commercial will play again.

Minimum separation between campaigns: How many minutes between the same ad campaign plays again:

  • This allows it so if you have 3 spots for Ted's Electric Guitars, it won't play them back to back to back.
