StreamAds Advertisers list - Admin Agent view
StreamAds Advertisers list - Admin Agent view

Contents

Overview

The very first thing you need to do in order to be able to schedule any advertisements is to create an Advertiser. Once you log into StreamAds as an Agent, the very first screen you will see with be the Advertiser management screen. (See picture). Alternatively you can always access this page by holding your mouse over Advertisers in the main navigation bar, and then selecting the Advertisers list option.

Advertisers are grouped by the Agent assigned to manage their account.

Admin level agents will be able to see the Advertisers of other agents within their Agency. Clicking on the Agent name will display all the advertisers which that Agent is responsible to manage. Normal access level agents will only be able to see the advertisers they have created and are managing.

The screenshot on the right shows the view of an Admin level Agent which can not only see their own Advertisers, but also the Advertisers for other Agents within their Agency.

Adding a new advertiser

Creating new advertiser
Creating new advertiser

To add a new advertiser, click on the Add new advertiser link located directly above the list of Agents and Advertisers. This will bring you to the Advertiser details form. (See screenshot)

Fields to be completed:

  • Agent - Select an agent from the dropdown menu that will be responsible to manage this advertiser.
Note: The Agent field allows you to assign this advertiser to a particular Agent. This function is only available for Agents assigned with Admin privileges. This field is not displayed for normal agents.
  • Name - The name of the advertiser. Be as descriptive as you need, as this is the main way to identify the advertiser on reports.
  • Contact - The name of the contact person for the advertiser.
  • Email - The email address of the contact person for the advertiser.
  • Username - Select username for advertiser login.
  • Password - Password for advertiser login. If you do not intend for advertisers to log into StreamAds to view their own advertisements, simply enter any random string of characters into this field as you will never need it again.

Once you have completed all the fields, click on the Submit button. On success, you will automatically be redirected to the Campaign management screen for this advertiser. If there were any errors on the form, you will be asked to fix the errors before continueing.

Editing an existing advertiser's details

To edit any existing advertiser's details, click on the Agent's name to expand the list of advertisers for that agent (only if required) and then click on the Edit link next to the advertiser's username.

Make your changes and click on the Submit button to store your changes.

Note: For existing advertisers, once you are done editing you will be redirected back to the Advertiser management screen, and not the Campaign management screen as is done when creating a new advertiser.

Viewing and Editing advertiser campaigns

To view or edit any existing advertiser's campaign details, click on the Agent's name to expand the list of advertisers for that agent (only if required) and then click on the Campaigns link next to the advertiser's username.

This will bring you to the Campaign management screen where you can create, edit or deactivate campaigns.

Deactivating an advertiser

StreamAds does not allow you to delete advertisers. This is mostly to avoid losing any vital advertisement statistics. However, keeping your list of Advertisers short will help you be more productive in managing your StreamAds system.

Thus StreamAds allows you to deactivate advertisers.

To deactivate an advertiser, click on the Agent's name to expand the list of advertisers for that agent (only if required) and then click on the Deactivate link next to the advertiser's username. A confirmation box will ask you to confirm this action.

Deactivated advertisers will no longer show up on your main Advertiser management screen. See below how to Reactivate an advertiser.

Re-activating an advertiser

StreamAds never physically deletes records, thus any deactivated advertiser can be restored quickly. That means if you had an advertiser from 7 months ago return for another advertisement campaign, instead of creating a new account, you can simply restore the old account.

The first step in restoring deactivated advertisers is to change your Advertiser management screen to display only deactivated advertisers. This can be done by clicking the Inactive link located directly above the Agents & Advertisers list. (To the right of the Add new advertiser link)

This will refresh the view and only display deactivated advertisers. Now to activate any deactivated advertiser, all you have to do is click on the Activate link next to the advertiser. A confirmation box will pop up to confirm the action.

Once you activated an advertiser, you will automatically be redirected to the screen showing only active advertisers.
