The very first thing you need to do in order to be able to schedule any advertisements is to create an Advertiser.
+
A list of advertisers can be retrieved by clicking on the "Advertiser list" option under the "Advertisements" section of the menu. The list will only show the advertisers your agent has access to. Admin agents have access to all the advertisers assigned to agents in their agency, while normal agents only have access to advertisers assigned specifically to themselves.
-
Once you log into StreamAds as an ''Agent'', the very first screen you will see with be the Advertiser management screen. (''See picture''). Alternatively you can always access this page by holding your mouse over ''Advertisers'' in the main navigation bar, and then selecting the ''Advertisers list'' option.
+
-
Advertisers are grouped by the ''Agent'' assigned to manage their account.
+
Use the filters above the list to refine the list of advertisers:
 +
* '''Agent Lookup''': Use this text box to filter the advertisers according to the agent they are assigned to.
 +
* '''Search''': Use this text box to search for a string in the list of advertisers.
 +
* '''Status''': Use this combo box to search for advertisers with a specific status.
-
Admin level agents will be able to see the Advertisers of other agents within their ''Agency''.
+
You can also use a combination of the above mentioned search filters to further refine the list.
-
Clicking on the Agent name will display all the advertisers which that Agent is responsible to manage.
+
-
Normal access level agents will only be able to see the advertisers they have created and are managing.
+
-
The screenshot on the right shows the view of an Admin level Agent which can not only see their own Advertisers, but also the Advertisers for other Agents within their Agency.

StreamAds does not allow you to delete advertisers. This is mostly to avoid losing any vital advertisement statistics.

However, keeping your list of Advertisers short will help you be more productive in managing your StreamAds system.
+
-
Thus StreamAds allows you to ''deactivate'' advertisers.
+
To retrieve a list of campaigns for an advertiser, locate it in the advertiser list, then click on the "Campaigns" link in the "Options" column for the advertisers in question. This will bring you to the [[StreamAds Managing campaigns|''Campaign List'' screen]] with the advertiser filter set to the advertiser in question. You can now create, edit or deactivate campaigns for the advertiser in question.

To deactivate an advertiser, click on the Agent's name to expand the list of advertisers for that agent (''only if required'') and then click on the ''Deactivate'' link next to the advertiser's username.

-
A confirmation box will ask you to confirm this action.
+
-
Deactivated advertisers will no longer show up on your main Advertiser management screen.

To delete an advertiser, locate it in the advertiser list, then click on the "Delete" link in the "Options" column for the advertisers in question.
-
See below how to Reactivate an advertiser.

== Re-activating an advertiser ==
+
StreamAds does not allow you to delete advertisers entirely. This is mostly to avoid losing any vital advertisement statistics. Deleting an advertiser simply put it in the "Deleted" state and removes it from your default list of advertisers. You can always see this advertiser again by setting the "Status" filter on the advertiser list to "Deleted".
-
StreamAds never physically deletes records, thus any deactivated advertiser can be restored quickly.
+
Because StreamAds never deletes the actual advertiser record, you can restore it if you should wish to do so.
-
That means if you had an advertiser from 7 months ago return for another advertisement campaign, instead of creating a new account, you can simply restore the old account.
+
-
The first step in restoring deactivated advertisers is to change your Advertiser management screen to display only deactivated advertisers. This can be done by clicking the ''Inactive'' link located directly above the Agents & Advertisers list. (To the right of the ''Add new advertiser'' link)
+
''Example'': Suppose ran advertisements for an advertiser months ago, but in the meantime you have deleted the advertiser. If they happen to return to run another campaign, you can avoid the effort of creating a new advertiser by simply re-activating the deleted advertiser.
-
This will refresh the view and only display ''deactivated'' advertisers.
+
To re-active a previously deleted advertiser: Set the status filter on the advertiser list to "Deleted", locate the advertiser in the list of deleted advertisers, then click on the "Activate" link in the "Options" column for the advertisers in question.
-
Now to activate any deactivated advertiser, all you have to do is click on the ''Activate'' link next to the advertiser.
+
-
A confirmation box will pop up to confirm the action.
+
-
Once you activated an advertiser, you will automatically be redirected to the screen showing only active advertisers.

Advertiser List

A list of advertisers can be retrieved by clicking on the "Advertiser list" option under the "Advertisements" section of the menu. The list will only show the advertisers your agent has access to. Admin agents have access to all the advertisers assigned to agents in their agency, while normal agents only have access to advertisers assigned specifically to themselves.

Use the filters above the list to refine the list of advertisers:

  • Agent Lookup: Use this text box to filter the advertisers according to the agent they are assigned to.
  • Search: Use this text box to search for a string in the list of advertisers.
  • Status: Use this combo box to search for advertisers with a specific status.

You can also use a combination of the above mentioned search filters to further refine the list.

Campaigns List for Advertiser

To retrieve a list of campaigns for an advertiser, locate it in the advertiser list, then click on the "Campaigns" link in the "Options" column for the advertisers in question. This will bring you to the Campaign List screen with the advertiser filter set to the advertiser in question. You can now create, edit or deactivate campaigns for the advertiser in question.

Deleting Advertisers

To delete an advertiser, locate it in the advertiser list, then click on the "Delete" link in the "Options" column for the advertisers in question.

Because StreamAds never deletes the actual advertiser record, you can restore it if you should wish to do so.

Example: Suppose ran advertisements for an advertiser months ago, but in the meantime you have deleted the advertiser. If they happen to return to run another campaign, you can avoid the effort of creating a new advertiser by simply re-activating the deleted advertiser.

To re-active a previously deleted advertiser: Set the status filter on the advertiser list to "Deleted", locate the advertiser in the list of deleted advertisers, then click on the "Activate" link in the "Options" column for the advertisers in question.

Once you have activated an advertiser, you will automatically be redirected to the screen showing only active advertisers.
