Hello there.

I apologize as this is not AM/FM related but internet related, but I really need some help now.

I've been searching for some radio management software via the web for a while now to help a friend set up his own internet radio.

We have a server to use to distribute the stream, I configured it for now to play some random MP3s from a list just to make sure it worked properly.

What we're looking for now is something to manage programming, schedules, shows, and a library of MP3s.

We looked at Airtime, but the free, do-it-yourself version seems broken as hell and we were unable to install it properly (the thing even needs Javascript to be disabled to let us log in!). My guess is they abandonned the free version to make the Airtime.pro version which is horribly priced since we already have a server we can use.

We looked into Rivendell, but I wasn't able to understand how it worked either with an internet stream. I'm not even sure if it's situed for just Internet radio.

We also tried to install r-a-d.io but it failed horribly, that thing apparently was never meant to be opensourced, there's a blatant lack of documentation, etc.

We're contemplating coding something ourselves, but as a last resort, I wanted to check here if I could find someone who knos a Linux software we could install on a webserver to manage our small Internet radio.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

You want an Airtime.pro alternative? Spacial has SAM Cloud.
You want a self-hosted alternative? Spacial has SAM Broadcaster PRO for that, but it's not web-based.

But honestly: I think you mixed up where to post this.
This forum is run by a company that sells software for internet radio broadcasters.
Obviously there are free alternatives, but this isn't the place to talk about them for obvious reasons.
The only other reason why you would post this here is because you're the kind of guy who walks into a mercedes car dealership and asks where to find the best BMW cars.

I'm running Airtime 2.5.1 on Debian 7 (Wheezy). What I suggest you do for install is to start with Ubuntu 12.04 or Debian Wheezy, install Airtime and then dist-upgrade to a more current version (fixing issues as you go). I'm going to have to endure that battle shortly when I update to Jessie...

I've had issues on Ubuntu 14.04 mainly with Ogg Vorbis streaming, as there was a bug in the version of liquidsoap or icecast (can't remember which) that ships in 14.04.

Looks like I forgot to lock this post.
Please, people: This is a forum run by a company producing a direct competitor to Airtime.pro. If you want vendor-neutral support, check out broadcastingworld or some other generic radio forum. This forum is not the place for discussing software from different vendors.
