Hi all.

I hope i can find my solution here.
I have some problems with my sam broadcast installation, version 4.
The problem i have is when i wanna start the installatie everything is going fine, until i get the database selection.
For the DJ group i am going to join i need the firebord database.
But when i select firebird and select => Next => use default sttings => next.
Then i get the error cant find instsvc.exe file. When clicking on OK in the error, i get a new error "unable to start instsvc.exe"

I hope someboddy can help me with this problem. But first some extra information below.

Already tried:

- Reinstalling the sam broadcaster programme afther removing everything from my computer. And afther uninstall restarted my system.
- Trying older & newer version of sam broadcaster, same problem/error.
- Afther uninstall used CCleaner to remove old register files and normale files.
- Running as administrator and compatible mode dident work eather.
- Tried to run it on a other computer. That works without any problem. And is the same system setup.

System information:

Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 Bit.
Memory: 6 GB DDR 3.
CPU: Intel I7 980 X @ 3,33 Ghz
Moederboard: Asus rampage 3 extreme
Harddisk: 500 GB, 7200 rpm, 64 mb cash. s-ata.

Need any other information about the system or enything els ?
Please just ask me, and i will look up for you.

SAM will always try to install firebird regardless of whether you already installed it yourself.
Switch to a different database system in the installer and adjust the SAMBC.core.xml later so that it matches your Firebird Database.

Why don't you just use MySQL? You'll be better off in the long run, and it should solve your current issues as well.

Your Firebird seems to not like the SQL Queries by Spacial's installer.
Can't tell you what the exact problem is though.
I've never used Firebird with SAM and the last time I used Firebird with anything else is about 10 years ago.

You really can't do much wrong.
Here's a video tutorial I did a while back:

I followed every step of the tutorial you give me.
Until the point that guy is doing something but totaly doesent show what he is doing.
Becaus he gets a line of the setup automatice filled up with texst.
But nothing happening to me.
So even this is not working for me. Is there any other solution with firebird ?
Becaus i need to use firebird for the DJ work i am going to do.

Well of course you can use Firebird, but then you need to stick with the helpdesk of spacial.
About 90% of the people that return to this forum more than once, have their SAM running on MySQL as that is way more stable.

If you tell where exactly you are having problems we could probably help you with MySQL.
(Just tell me around what time that problem is and I'll try to clarify it in text form :D)

I actually wanted to ask if maybe you would like to help via teamviewer. Seems better if we do it that way. Because I do not know how to explain it properly.
My english is not so good though, I use a translator :)

That's perfectly possible.
Just send me a private message and we'll find a suitable time.
Keep in mind though that I'm from Germany and will usually not be available during American or Asian "business hours".
