Hello. Is it possible to upgrade a SAM DJ license to a SAM Broadcaster license before the 1 year subscription ends?
So for example say I bought SAM DJ, but later decided that Winamp suits me well for my needs, but I would like to do an upgrade to the old v2014 of SAM that I'm using, so, instead of paying the full price, could I take advantage of having bought SAM DJ and only pay the rest to upgrade it to SAM Broadcaster? Or do I really have to buy a brand new license for Broadcaster and pay the full price?

I've never heard of an upgrade path from SAM DJ to SAM Broadcaster and given you are on a severly outdated version, there's not even a cheaper upgrade path to the latest version AFAIK.

But anyway, that's completely outside the scrope of community support. You should get in touch with a Sales employee at Spacial and discuss that with them.

I've contacted them already today.
Seems I gotta save money to buy a new version of SAM Broadcaster.
Upgrading from DJ to Broadcaster doesn't seem to be an option, as the support team told me.

There is NO upgrade path from SAM DJ to SAM Broadcaster Pro. You'll simply have to buy a license for SAM Broadcaster Pro the same way someone who didn't have a SAM DJ license would have to.

Ok, so I was finally able to buy a new SAM Broadcaster, thanks to the 30% off limited cupon code. Guess rather than staying on the same version, I might upgrade every month, since the upgrades are pretty cheap anyway :-)

Updates are included for 12 months.
Also cheap is relative. There are folks who used the 4.x version of SAM for way over 10 years now, making it less than 30 USD/year.

Yeah sorry, I mean every year. From what I read it's like 69 bucks if u upgrade 3 months before a year passed since u bought SAM.

Once a current version of SAM is purchased, after the first year there is an annual Subscription (Support & Maintenance) of $69 that entitles you to further updates of SAM.

Makes sense, yeah.
IIRC the regular upgrade price is 99 USD and you can have it at that rate for longer than 1 year. (Apparently there's no fixed schedule as to when an old version is no longer eligible for upgrades, but they rather discontinue old versions in a newsletter every few years)
