We're using SAM Broadcaster v4.7.4, and things have been sounding good for years, but suddenly it sounds tinny and without bass. I can't think of what could have changed.

- we're using LAME MP3 encocder at 128k/stereo/44.1k for live stream and 256k/stereo/44.1k for archives (different encoders for each)

- for each deck I have EQ disabled and "bypass all" enabled

- in the past we've had a mixing board but currently all shows are remote, just going through SAM, no mixing board attached. We're about to have a mixing board and external signal processing again but I'd love to figure out this issue first.

I don't imagine anyone has any tips, things to try?

And I'm especially wondering: if we're simply playing tracks in SAM is the soundcard used at all? In other words would upgrading the soundcard make any difference?

Our station is here:

Can hear our stream directly at goodradio.org/valencia

Sound card may be the culprit...

See this post -
Soundcard recommendation?

I moved from a sound card to an interface, and all my problems went away.

hope this helps!

Fixed! Somehow on the Encoders window the "select source" option for our stream was set to "soundcard" instead of "audio pipeline". No idea how that happened but sounds great now.
