Seems like when I go to search for my station on Shoutcast at https://directory.shoutcast.com/Search, or on Icecast at https://www.rcast.net/dir, I can never find it. When looking at my Event Log, I'm seeing hundreds and hundreds of "TOUCH Error 503" messages. My station has been online with Shoutcast DNAS and Icecast for about a week now and still it doesn't show up on either of these. What am I doing wrong? How can I get word out there that my station is up and running? Users have the option of using either Shoutcast or Icecast to listen, but in the past little while it's only been me.

Also, without going into other website chat rooms and on YouTube chats and offending someone or getting into trouble and/or banned from chats because I may post a link to my site, how do I get word out there that my site is up?

How do you guys get traffic? Advice would be very much appreciated!

1) Check your SAM settings (station details + Encoder settings !) as in attached screen shots. They may help to get your station listed in external listings and not be staying in private mode. Eventually this will remove your 503 error messages (stating connection problem with AudioRealm.com. Same error message will be seen if AudioRealm.com is down .. So don't worry - just ignore)
2) If you are hosting YOUR OWN shoutcast / icecast servers locally: Check settings in configuratin file or menue if servers are set to public status
3) If you are using THIRD Party shoutcast / icecast servers - check if they are set to public status. Please note that some services are set to "private mode" by default ...

In addition to my previous post: A few years ago I noticed that some other radio listing platforms are copying the station URLs from AudioRealm to their own platforms ... So placing your station on AudioRelam is not a bad idea - if it is the same behaviour as years ago...

Oh yeah, website is down. No chance to get listed on. There were no major problems in the past but it was a very old and no responsive web design for nowadays. I noticed in some other webradio forums that there are a lot of users asking about this specific 503 error in their logs ...

You know you can go into SAM Config/Station Details/Show station details on Audiorealm.com and turn that off, then all the problems will disappear.

The downside from AudioRelam is that you can't do it via a YP directory listing in your icecast.xml file, but only via sam broadcaster

if you have a valid shoutcast DNAS, create profiles on every radio directory, there you can upload images, about, links and what not.

There's so many, i gave up on AudioRealm and Shoutcast directory a long time ago, I used rcast for a while, but did not get the exposure i wanted. All you need to create a profile is a valid DNAS endpoint.
