Hi, I just switched my SAM Broadcaster system over from VMWare to Hyper-V, and it's all working just fine.

My problem is, in Hyper-V, I want to run the Shoutcast DNAS and Icecast AND SAM when my system starts up, without me having to start it after I logon. I can get the task created for the DNAS and Icecast, and they will run successfully, but when the task tries to run SAM, it fails. What are the task parameters for running SAM, if any?

Also, when I run SAM manually after the encoders are loaded, it runs fine, but as soon as I close my VM to have it run in the background, SAM stops and my station goes offline. It would be ideal if I could keep SAM running and the VM and VM Console both running invisibly, as it did in VMWare.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, otherwise I'm just going to have to live with the VM being open but minimized 24/7.

I got the parameters figured out for Icecast and Shoutcast OK. Icecast was giving me a bit of a pain but I figured it out, eventually. When my VM boots up and loads them both I don't even know they're running unless I look at the Task Manager and the station works fine.

Now I just have to figure out how to get the parameters for SAM configured so I can close the virtual machine and the console and still have it running.

If I figure it out, I'll post the resolution here unless any of you are already successfully running SAM in a Hyper-V VM and are able to close it and have it continue to run - then you can tell me how to do it.

I want this to be out of sight, out of mind while I'm working away on other stuff.
